Agenda Item #1: Review of Season

Questions were raised concerning past members not returning for regular play.

Discussion included the following comments…

·        Some past members said they were burnt out, needed a break.  Approximately 16 former members did not return to participate in the 2010 – 2011 season on a regular basis.

·        Difficulties with transportation may have prevented some from attending routinely.

·        Some members needed a sense of obligation to motivate them to attend.

·        Those who regularly attended league night play were committed to the sport and would attend regardless the format of play.

·        The average number of weekly participants was similar to past years.

·        85 different participants were processed/ played throughout the season.

·        51 total paid members for 2010 – 2011.

Agenda Item #2: New Ideas or suggestions for Improvement

Discussion included the following comments…

·        Tables needed to be marked better to facilitate group assignment

·        Method of indicating when an assigned table was free for additional matches from other groups to speed up play.

·        A suggestion for the Score sheets to be cut in strips to accommodate recording matches into the computer with out removing the clip board from the playing area.  A follow-up comment suggested that the strips of match records would be left all over the place and be a clean up problem.  Another comment mentioned the convenience of match score verification would be compromised with the strips not left on a single sheet.

·        A suggestion to extend the height of 10 barriers used in the center of the gymnasium to accommodate the passing ball travel from opposite table areas.  Piping will be needed to facilitate this effort.

·        Additional/ Current Photo Images should be updated regularly on the web site.  Chad Watson is to coordinate that for the 2011 – 2012 season.

Agenda Item #9: Lifetime Membership Award

Lifetime Membership criteria

Every organization has a few members that do more than their share of work for the group and this effort allows the rest of the members to really benefit from their effort.  We are referring to folks that do things like:  participate regularly, pay dues regularly, help with equipment set-up and take-down, and serve as an officer for a significant period.  Another possible way to qualify for a Lifetime Membership nomination would be to make a significant contribution to the club.  This could be in the form of financial or equipment donation.  This award is to honor members those individuals that have helped the club continue and flourish.

At the March 14, 2011 league meeting the ‘Lifetime Membership’ was established. The following two CTTC members were selected to be the recipients of this prestigious award.  (Harry Sands & Jim Fulks)
